What Atlas sends, and what it never sends.
The short version: your child's name is never attached to what we learn, and nothing at all leaves it while they are learning.
Atlas syncs a pseudonymous learning record — which skills were practised and how they went — whenever the phone next has a connection, and your child's name is never part of what it sends.

Does Atlas record my child's voice?
No. Atlas does not record audio, does not transmit it, and does not use the camera. There is nothing typed to travel either: your child taps, drags, traces and chooses, and that is what the engine needs to decide what comes next.
The day Atlas starts listening to a child read aloud, this page will say so before it happens, and will say exactly where that listening is processed.
Nothing is sent during a lesson.
Why does Atlas send anything at all?
We say this plainly rather than pretending we do not want it. A tutor that cannot see where children get stuck cannot get better at un-sticking them, and refusing that signal would make Atlas a worse teacher.
So we take the learning signal — what was practised and how it went, against a random identifier — and we do not take identity.
That is the line, and it does not move: the learning syncs, the person does not.
Does Atlas show ads?
The word we use on purpose.
The record that syncs is pseudonymous: it is tied to a random identifier, not to a person. We use that word instead of the warmer one, because the warmer one would let us imply more than we have earned.
Take the name off a long history of one learner and you have not made it impossible to trace. You have made it harder to trace. That is a real difference and it is worth something, but it is not the same claim, and the person reading this deserves the version that is true. So we name it precisely and handle it as though it still matters. It does.
